- I had lunch with Lora Ward of A Day To Remember Wedding Consultants this last week. It was nice to sit and break bread, so to speak, and talk non-shop for awhile. Lora shared some insight and advice about taking care of parents and the role we sometimes have to take on as children. I have enjoyed coordinating many wonderful weddings, however, one of the more beautiful and a bit on the â??extravagantâ?? side was one held on a hillside above the Pacific Ocean, at the beautiful Bacara Resort & Spa in Santa Barbara, CA. All guests wore white, the groom entered the ceremony riding a beautiful white horse, the bride enjoyed two wedding gowns, white doves were released, the guests dined on a 6 course dinner in a stunning theatrically lighted room, the wedding cake was taller than the groom, and the eveningâ??s entertainment was a famous Flamenco guitarist flown in for the reception.
