  • I found this an interesting blurb on another photographers blog (that I read all the time) about 2nd shooters and rates:

*What is the average price you pay a second shooter?
This depends on the shooters experience and the main photographerâ??s benevolence. When I first started second shooting, the only thing I got at the end of the night was a big pat on the back. As time passed, my rates changed. Itâ??s fair to say the average pay here in Orange County is $20-$45/hour, depending on experience. -- Jasmine Starr

So it's good to know what Orange County is paying...which has much higher living costs that the Sacramento area. And better yet...good to know that I pay my girls well - especially since I don't require they own their own gear! :-)

  • Another fun excerpt from Kelly's trip:

"It was our first morning in Venice, so we got up and headed out early in the morning. As we were walking down an alleyway little white particles were softly floating through the air. Considering we were in the midst of MILLIONS of pigeons, I told my friend that I thought it was pigeon poop drying up and flaking off in the wind. So, I stuck my gloved hand in the air to "catch one" and get a closer look. When I caught one, I looked at it and it was an actual, perfectly formed snowflake! I was so excited I SCREAMED! It was magical! Snow in Venice... In moments like this you have to ask yourself, "Does life get any better?"Italy travel photos 1Italy travel photos 2

  • I've been meaning to create these white boards for my walls to visually see where in the process I am with every client. While watching the superbowl today, I finally got these done...well almost. There are two full boards of tasks that we accomplish throughout our client process. It's nice to be able to see it all on the wall! Now I just need to add all our clients to the boards.multi tasking photographermulti tasking photographer 2
