  • This is my cousin Natalie and her fiance Ryan. They are getting married next October here in Sacramento! And of course, this is Gunner. We're super excited to be their wedding photographers. We were able to visit briefly with my Aunt and Uncle and cousins over Thanksgiving while they were here visiting Sacramento and we snapped some quick photos so that they could create their save the date cards for their wedding.

I'm so glad that so many of our clients this year have been including their pets as part of their family pictures.

  • This one I couldn't resist! Seriously, Gunner has the largest longest tongue ever! What do you think? Should they include Gunner in their wedding next year? As a wedding photographer, I for one, would be totally down with that!

  • Cory, Kerry, and I went to see The Christmas Sweater - A Return to Redemption this last Thursday night. It was a live presentation simulcast in over 400 HD theaters nationwide. (We used Fandango to purchase tickets.) If you have never heard this story, it's a good read about reminds you about what really matters in life. It will replay one time only this coming Thursday on 12/10/2009.

If You Could Change Your Life by Reversing Your Biggest Regrets, Sorrows and Mistakes...Would You?

  • (About The Christmas Sweater book...Amazon product description)
#1 New York Times bestselling author and renowned radio and television host Glenn Beck delivers an instant holiday classic about boyhood memories, wrenching life lessons, and the true meaning of the gifts we give to one another in love.

We weren't wealthy, we weren't poor -- we just were. We never wanted for anything, except maybe more time together....

When Eddie was twelve years old, all he wanted for Christmas was a bike. Although his life had gotten harder -- and money tighter -- since his father died and the family bakery closed...Eddie dreamed that somehow his mother would find a way to have his dream bike gleaming beside their modest Christmas tree that magical morning.

What he got from her instead was a sweater. "A stupid, handmade, ugly sweater" that young Eddie left in a crumpled ball in the corner of his room.

Scarred deeply by the realization that kids don't always get what they want, and too young to understand that he already owned life's most valuable treasures, that Christmas morning was the beginning of Eddie's dark and painful journey on the road to manhood. It will take wrestling with himself, his faith, and his family -- and the guidance of a mysterious neighbor named Russell -- to help Eddie find his path through the storm clouds of life and finally see the real significance of that simple gift his mother had crafted by hand with love in her heart.

Based on a deeply personal true story, The Christmas Sweater is a warm and poignant tale of family, faith and forgiveness that offers us a glimpse of our own lives -- while also making us question if we really know what's most important in them. The Return to Redemption is picking up where the story left off by chronicling the life-changing impact The Christmas Sweater's message has had on people all over the country.

  • Several weeks ago I was suppose to have lunch with Dave Shilling and he stood me up! He did have a good reason of course - his kids were sick. I joked that he could it up with chocolate. So to my surprise when he met me downtown this last week for lunch, he brought me Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates! Oh so good!!! After lunch we walked around a few blocks and it gave me an idea that I used in a family photo shoot that I had just that afternoon...which will be posted tomorrow.

  • Two weeks ago, Carie and I had lunch with Gino Creglia in his photography studio in Folsom. We decided ahead of time to bring lunch...picnic style! We had ceasar salad, meats, cheeses, bread, even a few cookies for dessert, and a nice bottle of red wine. It was fabulous!

The best part however wasn't the food - the conversation was the best part. It was strangely odd how many things we found in common. Gino is one of the few photographers that I know of, besides myself, that is up before the sun comes up. And he says No No No as often as I say Yeah Yeah Yeah. We think we were twins separated at birth.

I'm so excited to introduce you all to such a wonderful photographer. I can't wait for us to work together on future endeavors.

This is one of Gino's commercial pieces. I LOVE IT!

  • November and December are always so busy it seems. And when you throw a new house and moving into the while still working long days, I'm not sure any one does it! Hence, why we haven't been able to meet with Kim and Scott in the last month since their album draft has been ready. We've received approval to post it live to the blog for everyone to see it for the first time together!

I wanted to share a few of my favorite album spreads with you. I can't help but love this one. The colors are awesome!

  • Kim and Scott were married during the summer months at Newcastle Wedding Gardens. If you've never seen this photography spot at Newcastle, you're missing out! Newcastle Wedding Gardens easily provides for many places to take photographers. Georgia keeps the grounds amazing!

  • And the Red Horse Barn used for the receptions held at Newcastle Wedding Gardens, makes for cool backdrop too. The silver metal of the barn is easily one of my favs!
